Description
The Garrard County Area Technology Center is a premier academic facility located in Lancaster, KY. We provide hands-on and classroom instruction to student to help the become career and/or college ready.
We are seeking to hire a smart, experienced, hardworking and dependable Administrative Specialist III to join our dedicated team. We seek persons of the highest moral character. This role represents a great opportunity to work in a dynamic, challenging and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities are:
  • Provide professional support to the ATC through preparation of school related documents and provides guidance according to policy and procedure on budgetary and accounting matters including, but not limited to MyPurpose, staff travel reimbursement, purchasing procedures, inventory and KTS attendance. Maintain data/reports for TEDS (Technical Education Data System) and Infinite Campus daily.
  • Work closely w/ principal to ensure accurate validation of data for accountability benchmarks. Provide recommendations to principal on appropriate accounting procedures & budgetary concerns related to Perkins Grant & SEEK (Support Education Excellence Kentucky) funding programs & other funding sources. Provide information to KY Tech administration as needed related to budgets, procurement,
  • Infinite Campus & travel reimbursement. Execute all functions pertaining to eMars including appropriate forms, quote solicitation and correct accounting codes. Draft correspondence, memorandums, reports or other responses that require the interpretation & application of policies & procedures. Serve as liaison between the ATC and feeder schools for matters of attendance and transcripts.
  • Organize and monitor procedural work in the ATC. Maintain inventory log and submit annual inventory report for the ATC. Ensure staff complete the necessary forms for payroll and personnel and review for accuracy. Submit personnel/payroll forms to assigned HRG upon request. Provide research for information for the principal using various options
  • Maintain bookkeeping for dues, conference registrations and industry donations before forwarding to central office. Interpret and provide guidance related to budgetary, financial and time recording policy and procedures for ATC staff.
  • Make travel arrangements for the ATC principals/instructional staff. Including completion of travel reimbursements, state park inter account forms, out of state authorizations, etc.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
